The Witch's Familiar

Missy is the Witch, one presumes...

So Clara is the Familiar?

(Drops the fake cliffhanger right away, you notice, to get back to the story.)

Although Davros is the ancient haggard creature, with an actual familiar, as well as a plan based on genetic alchemy...

After all that charging around the setting last week, half of this episode hinges on a lovely sequence of the Doctor and Davros together, debating the value of their actions and the importance of home. All a trick ultimately, and a trick on a trick, but if this had been how Davros finally died it would have been perfect... And I think he was honest in his opinion on Gallifrey...

The other half is about Dalek translation being a bit spotty. ;)

Most of the best lines come from the Doctor running out of patience with the Daleks. I suppose you would really.

  1. To be honest, I do not understand the link to the titles... And the Missy-Doctor-Dalek scene at the end felt rather stupid and forced.
    But a good episode.

    1. New theory seen online - the Doctor sees Clara as an apprentice, Missy dismisses her as a familiar (i.e. a somewhat useful pet).
