Might be a little early for a retrospective, but what the heck.
After a year off, Moffat and Capaldi’s last year was quite back-to-basics, at least to begin with.
Modern companion introduction, trip to space, trip to the past, horror episode (with “everybody lives” ending) pretty much following the template for reintroducing the show back in the day and also reflecting the earlier timeslot... then some zombies and a little bit of politics, then a big three-parter with a whole lot of politics, then Ice Warriors and some more politics, then a nice example of humanising ancient history, then, er, abject body horror and deep deep grief. So a bit of a rollercoaster.
