The Woman Who Fell To Earth

“Don’t be scared. All of this is new to you and new can be scary.”

“Two species at war using Earth as a battleground.” Good one, I’ve gotten mileage out of that myself.

And that’s not what it is.

The scary murderous power armour thing coming out of a giant blue meringue was an interesting choice, but he looked good himself (though he looked a bit Buffy and I was disappointed he only had two eyes considering the faceplate design) and the mass of tentacles and electricity, and the signal marker hanging in the sky, were great.

You can do a lot with a YouTube tutorial. And you can do a lot with a high-vis jacket and a clipboard.

A lot about families - from Grace, Graham and Ryan through Rahul searching for his sister to the nightwatchman also being a loving grandfather and Karl working at his dad’s company as well as Ryan’s absentee father. A theme developing?

On which note I’m glad they didn’t pull a Suzie Costello with Grace, but it did mean I was waiting for something to happen to her. :/

The music by Segun Akinola is quite subdued compared to the Murray Gold standard, with one big romantic theme.

I presume we’ll get back to the TARDIS at some point...
