The Shattered Man
The travellers see a man stumbling towards them, reaching out for help, then their perception distorts and he seems to break apart, like he was a mirror image rather than a person. The shards vanish in a flash of light, leaving nothing behind.
And then they see him again, looking wounded and battered. And he shatters again.
And then someone else...
“A signal calling for our help... but where’s it coming from? Who is he? What can we do?”
