Spyfall

Killer Satnav! Haven’t had one of those in a while.

Yorkshire needs to be distinguished as much as Russia.

The pushing-through-realities monsters are a really nice effect. The glowing works too, though the head shape makes me think Cybermen in Army Of Ghosts so I hope I’m wrong there.

Lovely location shooting. Still not sure why they feel the need.

The forest of tall dark twisty shapes was nice too.

Sir Lenny Henry playing it totally straight.

A male Master and a female Doctor, and not pushing for a kiss like the reverse as it would be much more troublesome that way. Sacha Dhawan’s previous Whoniverse connection was playing Waris Hussein in An Adventure In Time And Space.

Nice cliffhanger for the crew, less urgent for the Doctor though...

  1. I had the same Cyberman thoughts as you when the "light creatures" were introduced. Still could be them - The Master has history with them.

I'm also wondering if the "forest" could be The Matrix. And the light creatures are actually the Matrix ghosts.

    1. We'll see soon enough! (The most amusing guess I've seen so far is that the attack is Tissue Compression and the 'columns' are carpet fibres...)
