Twelve plots from David Bowie's Heathen

For David Bowie’s birthday, following , The Next Day and Reality, going back another album to plot hooks inspired by the song titles for Heathen:

Sunday
The TARDIS lands on a Sunday. Nothing world-threatening seems to be happening. And then again. And again. It doesn’t seem to be landing any other day of the week.

Cactus
The travellers find themselves in a parched desert which absolutely shouldn’t be in Islington.

Slip Away
One of the travellers vanishes while stepping out of the TARDIS door. A call to their home place and time determines that they’re there, and just arrived in their bedroom.

Slow Burn
A planet being nudged towards its sun by some unseen force. Can the Stranger and friends stop this before it reaches the point of no return?

Afraid
Something that feeds on fear, taking the form of your worst nightmare. The Potter fan in the TARDIS crew has a slight advantage here...

I’ve Been Waiting For You
It’s always a bit offputting when you step out of the TARDIS and someone hands you an invitation.

I Would Be Your Slave
The Master returns... and immediately surrenders.

I Took A Trip On A Gemini Spaceship
1966, the last Gemini launch, and someone wants it go much further than it’s designed to.

5:15 The Angels Have Gone
A glut of angel sightings all around the world - glowing figures moving to save people in danger and vanishing as soon as they’re safe. Religions and other authorities argue over what it means. And then it stops...

Everyone Says ‘Hi’
A sudden outbreak of friendliness on the first sunny day after a long winter. Everybody seems to be in a great mood. But why? (A Torchwood audiobook by Dan Abnett did this!)

A Better Future
A traveller from the present returns to find her home year is now a place of optimistic ideas about what it should be like from decades ago.

Heathen (The Rays)
The summer solstice, and strange energy readings from stone circles and burial mounds all over the British Isles. What is coming?
