Ten plots from Ziggy Stardust

David Bowie released The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars fifty years ago today.

So naturally after creating adventure hooks riffing on his album titles and songs from , The Next Day, Reality, Heathen, Hours and Earthling...

Some are informed by the song concepts, but not directly.

Five Years
The TARDIS arrives on Earth five years after a modern traveller left, and it’s a dead planet. What happened, and how can the travellers undo it?

Soul Love
Do you believe in soulmates? How about the soul itself? Okay, how about ghosts? And how about falling in love with something that might qualify as a ghost?

Moonage Daydream
An eclipse is a major tourist attraction on a 22nd century moon city, seeing the shadow of the moon fall on the Earth from the other side.

Starman
1972, and a young group of artists make contact with a visitor from another planet, here with a message the authorities won't exactly welcome. Can the travellers help the visitor home safely?

It Ain’t Easy
Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Diamond Dogs and the Hand Reaching Down all decide to attack earth on the same Thursday afternoon.

Lady Stardust
A succession fight for the throne of a star system, and one of the heirs seeks a powerful marriage with a visiting diplomat from another time and system - one of the travellers. It would only be for a solar year...

Star
The sun is missing. Did somebody steal it?

Hang On To Yourself
A weapon of the Time War sends the Stranger into a recursive regeneration, old and new and never-were incarnations struggling to exist. Can the other travellers anchor her sense of self?

Ziggy Stardust
Trying to get a good view at an early Bowie gig, the travellers realise they’re not the only visitors there. Including a group of time travelling art thieves who plan to kidnap the band and put them on tour in the 30th Century. Which Bowie would probably be cool with if they just asked, but there’s no guarantee they’d get them home afterwards.

Suffragette City
1919, and women in the UK should have at least partial voting rights by now. Who changed history, and why?

Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide
An alien signal hidden in a radio broadcast causing indecision, ennui and depression. Can the travellers defeat it by putting on a better rock show?
